YOUR PRIVACY
Legion Cabs is committed to protecting the privacy of information supplied to us by existing and prospective customers. We adhere strictly to the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 which took effect in December 2001.
COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
To carry out our service we request certain personal information including names, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers. This information may be stored in hard copy form or as electronic data in our computer systems. Legion Cabs will not use this information for any purpose other than for the provision of taxi facilities. The customer information we keep is used primarily to enable us to provide a faster response when a customer becomes a regular user of our services but it also helps us determine our human resources requirements. We will, where permitted by law, destroy or make unidentifiable personal information that is no longer needed.
ACCURACY OF INFORMATION
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the information we store is accurate, complete and up to date. If you believe that the personal information we hold about you is incorrect in some way, please let us know.
INFORMATION SECURITY
We protect the personal information that we hold from misuse, destruction and unauthorised disclosure. Personal information may only be accessed by authorised employees of Legion Cabs and our data base is protected through the use of secure passwords, firewalls (for internet security) and other user log-on procedures. Physical security over paper and electronic data stored on our premises is maintained through locks and security alarms. Though information transferred over the internet is never 100% secure, once we receive your transmission we will take the steps described above to ensure its security. Our web site does not store 'cookies' to record details of your server address or other usage of our web site such as the pages you view.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
We will disclose personal information strictly in accordance with the Privacy Act. This is only likely to occur in extraordinary circumstances such as where we are compelled by law to release personal details.
ACCESS TO INFORMATION WE HOLD
You will be able to access your personal information by written request to the Legion Cabs Privacy Officer whose contact details are provided below. Your request to obtain access will be dealt with in a reasonable time. Legion Cabs may recover from you its costs of providing you with access. There may be occasions when this access is denied under section of the Privacy Act. If we refuse to provide you with access to information we will supply reasons for the refusal and inform you of the relevant terms of the Privacy Act we relied upon.
CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to change this privacy policy at any time with changes becoming effective once the varies privacy policy is posted on our web site. The terms of our privacy policy will never contradict or be in conflict with the terms of the Privacy Act.
